Do I need to book in to train?
No booking is necessary, just turn up prior to the class and our staff will look after you.
What equipment do I need?
No specific gym gear is required to begin training, beyond clothing you are comfortable in. As you get into it you may wish to purchase your own gloves, gi, etc, but we recommend checking the classes out to see if you like it before making purchases.
Do I need to get fit before I start training martial arts with you?
You do not. The best way to get fit for martial arts is by training martial arts. Our coaches will let you work at your own pace and you will probably be surprised by how quickly your fitness improves with regular training.
Do you offer free trial classes?
Unfortunately not, although you can pay per class.
I am in town for a couple of days. Do you accept visitors from other gyms?
Sure, you are very welcome at the Griphouse. We offer a pay per class option for those visiting us.
Which of your classes are good for beginners?
Here is a list of our beginners/fundamental classes.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu:
Monday: 6pm
Tuesday : 7am, 10am and 6pm
Wednesday: 5.15pm
Thursday: 6.00pm and 8pm women’s class
Friday: 7am and 10am
Saturday: 10am
Mixed Martial Arts:
Tuesday and Thursday: 7pm
Wrestling:
Wed 5pm
Thurs 10am and 5 pm
Sat 9am
Muay Thai Kick Boxing:
Mon: 10am and 8pm
Tues: 10am and 7pm
Wed: 6pm
Thurs: 10am and 7pm
Fri: 10am
Sat 10am
How much does it cost?
Pay per class £10 (£7 for students and under 15)
Pay per month £80 (£60 for students and under 15)
Pay per year (£800)
